Draw a search

Overview

During a Rightmove hack-week our small team developed the idea of drawing property searches on a map. As none of us were from London we found our knowledge was limited when searching for properties. Plus, we found searching just using postcodes cumbersome, so they idea of drawing your search area on a map was born.

After winning the hack-week our idea was developed into a project called draw-a-search. My role throughout was as a UX, visual designer and front end developer. During the course of the project I ran several usability testing sessions with customers, where the overwhelming feedback was positive.

Following the success of draw a search I worked on the estate agent version, the Agent Competitor Analysis (ACA). This tool provides agents with the ability to monitor their performance against competitors in their drawn area or patches.
